Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming to the degree that is possible our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same—our commitment to your safety.

FAQs Regarding Office Protocols

How is your office staying on top of infection control recommendations?

Ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for our patients and staff has always been our priority. To that end, we will continue to minimize the risk for transmission of any infectious agents. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

What changes will I see at my next appointment?
  • Prior to your appointment, our office will communicate with you to ask some screening questions. We ask that you answer their calls, emails, or texts or we may be forced to reschedule your appointment. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you come into the office, and we will take your temperature at that time as well. You always have the right to refuse these precautions, though in that case, we’ll be unable to proceed with your treatment visit.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients in order to reduce waiting times and to minimize the number of patients in our reception area at any one time. It is our intention to only use the reception area minimally so that interaction with others is reduced. Also, we apologize that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines to minimize infection risk.
  • Appointments will be managed a bit differently that in the past in order to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment, but we want to ensure safety over convenience for the time being. No companions will be allowed inside the office unless absolutely necessary, so we ask that if others accompany you to your appointment, you ask them to remain outside the office.
  • We will also ask you to use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. You will find it in the reception area and other places throughout the office for you to use as needed. You will also be asked to rinse with a pleasant tasting antiseptic rinse prior to starting our procedures.
Are you providing dental cleanings at this time?

We have resumed providing hygiene maintenance, as well as elective services. The precautions listed above will be taken to protect you and our staff.

I’m experiencing some symptoms but have an appointment coming up. What do I do?

Please call our office ASAP so we can determine if your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Generally speaking, if you’re feeling sick, we ask that you stay home. Please review our screening questions above before your appointment.
