What to Expect When Getting Digital Photos at Newhouse Periodontics
If you’ve never had digital photos taken of your teeth, don’t worry! The process is quick and comfortable:
- Preparing & Setting Up
We’ll get all our equipment ready, including special cameras and lighting, while you relax in your seat. No aprons or uncomfortable setups needed—just sit back and get comfortable!
- Taking Intraoral (Inside the Mouth) Photos
We gently use small tools to help capture clear photos inside your mouth. Most people find this quick and easy. Depending on your concerns and needs, we may take a few close-ups for the best results.
- Taking Extraoral (Outside the Mouth) Photos (If Needed)
If extra photos of the outside of your mouth are needed – to show profiles, smiles, lip positions, etc, we’ll simply ask you to remove glasses or similar accessories. We make sure the experience is smooth and relaxed.
- Saving Your Images
Your digital photos are digitally stored safely and securely in our system, making them easy to access whenever you need to review them, use them to discuss your treatment with Dr. Newhouse or family, share with other dental professionals or physicians, or insurance companies when required to obtain estimates and coverage for services. Getting digital photographs is quick, easy, and gives you and your care team excellent records for your treatment journey.
